Milk - They'll make you pay for longevity

I am not sure if you've noticed, but the expiry date on your milk is getting sooner and sooner.

Over the past 3 years, I have noticed that the expiry date on run of the mill 4L bags of milk has reduced from 4 weeks, to 3 weeks, and now to ~2.5 weeks. The expiry dated on standard milk have shrunk, while the expiry dates on premium grade milk has remained the same at 4-5 weeks.

I'm not one for conspiracy or collusion theories, but this is all to frequent and all to sudden. I believe the Milk producers have worked together to cohesively reduce the longevity of standard milk products, while maintaining the longevity of premium milk products, in order to garner more profits. Very frequently, I have intercepted the milk-stock clerk and picked a bag right off the new-shipment cart, only to find the expiry date on my standard milk product to be between 2.5 - 3 weeks left of freshness before the expiry date.

Now, I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I find it odd that every retailer is now selling standard milk that only lasts 2.5 weeks, whlie premium milk lasts 4+ weeks.
